Want to get away? It is hard to think of a more ideal place to get away from the chaos of life than at a Lakefront-Mountain Swiss Chalet in Laurel Highlands. Say goodbye to the stress and hello to the fresh air, open spaces, starry skies and adventurous surroundings where family and friends can make priceless memories.
They say first impressions are everything, and from the moment you arrive at The Secret Lake Chalet, the Swiss Alpine architecture instills a sense of nostalgia that instantly puts you in a relaxing mood. But it only gets better from there!
Boasting a plethora of windows in every room of the newly renovated house, including four large sliding glass doors overlooking the lake, natural light fills the space and warms your heart. At The Secret Lake Chalet, no one has to “draw straws” for the nice bedroom. Each bedroom provides direct views to the lake.
The newly renovated space was tailored for your convenience and enjoyment, allowing you to relax and take advantage of all the private lake has to offer.
With a large front porch, two story deck and huge private dock, you will have ample space to enjoy a fresh cup of coffee in the morning or have a magnificent outdoor meal.
Daily activities are endless, no matter the season. Known as one of the most oxygen-rich lakes in the state of Pennsylvania, this private lake is home to large mouth bass, Northern pike, blue gill, crappie, perch and catfish and is an excellent place to fish alongside your family and friends.
Go swimming or kayaking on the lake. Hike the best trails in Western Pennsylvania. Explore the Quemahoning Family Recreation Area. Shop at the historic and Norman Rockwell-esque downtown Ligonier. Enjoy the #1 rated children’s amusement park at Idle Wild & SoakZone. Ski at the Laurel Mountain resort. Watch racecars at the Jennerstown Speedway. Or visit the hallowed grounds of the Flight 93 Memorial. And that is just the tip of the iceberg.

This private newly renovated home allows you to have access to the entire space, all to yourself.
With 4 bedrooms, 3 of which have queen beds in each room, and the 4th room having 2 sets bunk beds (4 twin beds), you can easily sleep the whole family of 10 comfortably.
Two full baths (one on each level of the home) allow for comfort and ease of use (both of which have bathtub/shower combos).
You’ll have full access to the kitchen that includes all the essentials and seats 10.
Enjoy the tranquility of the backyard overlooking the lake that is right outside the back deck. You get full access to your own private dock where you can fish, swim and kayak from.
And of course you don’t want to miss the breathtaking sunsets over the water. Finish the night at your private fire pit while roasting s’more, relaxing by the fire and having good conversation with those you love.

Flight 93 National Memorial
On Tuesday morning, September 11, 2001, the U.S. came under attack when four commercial airliners were hijacked and used to strike targets on the ground. Because of the actions of the 40 passengers and crew aboard Flight 93, the attack on the U.S. Capitol was thwarted. Visit this memorial, which is located 15 minutes away in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
Historic Downtown Ligonier
Full of history as well as personality, quaint shops and fantastic restaurants, you’ll enjoy a visit to Ligonier. Make memories at the famous Idlewild & SoakZone (since 1878!). Visit a reconstruction of the French & Indian War era fort – Fort Ligonier, and if you’re there in the fall go to Fort Ligonier Days, a three-day festival that includes food, crafts, a grand parade and battle reenactments at the Fort.

This scenic region features historic sites, Frank Lloyd Wright home, whitewater rafting and hundreds of miles of trails for hiking, cross-country skiing and backpacking. Sleeps 10, Seating for 10. Everyone is accounted when it comes to sitting for meal time. There are enough seats for 10 guests to dine for every meal. Plus, there is of course bonus space on the 2 story deck that adds extra additional outdoor seating with the best scenic views.

Private Lake & Dock
The large, private dock with solar lights, an over-the-water hammock and seating for more than 10 makes it a great spot to spend the day at the lake. Steps leading to the water allow you to safely enter and exit the lake.
Kayaks, Canoe and Paddle Boat
Explore the calm lake in a kayak, canoe or paddleboat while you sightsee, exercise or fish. Get an up-close glimpse of the lake’s swans, Jeb and Dippy!
